Fresh Fest 2009 Review
August 20, 2009
The Fresh Fest 2009 concert at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles was a historical Hip Hop event to remember. This amazing concert brought out the best Hip Hop artist of all time from the 80′s and 90′s. The line up for the show included Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Naughty by Nature, DJ Quik, and Hoodini. Thousands of fans flooded the Nokia Theater, an elegant venue which provided an amazing aerial view of the show for every seat in the building.
It was only fitting that the livest MC of all time opened the show, no one other than “The Human Beat Box Machine” Doug E Fresh. As soon as Fresh hit the stage he was greeted by an enormous outburst of cheers by each and every fan in attendance. Fresh did not disappoint what so ever, performing a variety of hits which included :”Just Having Fun”, “The Original Human Beat Box”, “The Show”, and more. He also gave the fans what they were waiting for and that’s his infamous display of various beat box tempos, beats, and breaks. Fans were blessed with a treat when he brought Slick Rick The Ruler(jewelry included) to the stage performing their 1985 hit “La Di Da Di”, this brought everyone to their feet. Slick Rick didn’t leave the stage without performing a few hit singles of his own which included:”Children’s Stories”, “Hey Young World”, and “Teenage Love”.
It has been a while since Hip Hop has seen such an energetic group that makes good music like Naughty by Nature. Although they had big shoes to fill by following up Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh, they definitelygave ticket buyers their moneys worth. The group brought liveliness to the show with hyped anthem songs. The group performed their hits which included: “OPP”,”Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”, “Uptown Anthem”, and more. Followed by Naughty was Los Angeles’ own DJ Quik who was introduced by comedian Katt Williams. Quik entered the stage wearing a throwback LA Kings starter jacket with an old school boom box in hand. Unfortunately he only gave fans two songs and left the stage but not before promoting his show which will take place at the House of Blues on Sunset September 25th. It was apparent Quik was upset for not being able to close the show in his own hometown and rightfully so. Show performers made a terrible decision by not letting Quik close the show. Hoodini did close the show and unfortunately for him most fans headed for the exits after Quik left the stage. Overall the Fresh Fest was a phenomenal event. It reminds you of what a true Hip Hop show is. These artist existed in the music business when your music had to have a message in it. Today’s artist exist due to a factor of gimmicks mixed with the internet. A true fan of music can appreciate these artist and what they have done for Hip Hop. Special thanks to Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, Naughty by Nature, DJ Quik, and Hoodini.

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush Breakup
July 28, 2009
Just got the word that NFL running back of the New Orlean Saints and famous video sex tape star(see Ray J) Kim Kardashian have broke ties. I have been waiting for this break up for a long time. It is surprising the two stars lasted as long as they did. It is clear this was a classic case of staying together as long as they could in order to prove the public their love was “real and would last forever”. But I do commend the both of them for staying together for over two years(they became a couple in April 2007) which is an eternity for celebrities. According to sources the two mutually agreed that their schedules conflicted which didn’t allow the proper quality time together. Its hard having an NFL player who has to go through a long season and also train in the offseason be with a Hollywood personality who is constantly making appearances for different events and things of that matter. As far as I am concerned it was an happy ending, they went above and beyond their limit. Question is who will Kim let wife her up next? She moves pretty fast so it shouldn’t take to long. As for Reggie I suggest he play the field for a while, no pun intended.

The Game goes in on Jay-Z | Jay replies? | Hiphop Beef is played!
July 8, 2009
Well not long after i gave Game his props for showing maturity in his apology to Dre and Fif, he goes in on Jay for no apparent reason. On the low he’s been taking shots at Jay but now its out in the open. This is nothing new to me, nothing new to Hiphop, and should be nothing new to you either. Game seems to ALWAYS make one step forward and then take one step back (maybe two steps back in this case). Showing growth and then reverting back to the same ol Game we recognize him to be. I dont understand why he has had issue with Jay but then i really dont too much care. You should already know where i stand as far as rap beef is concerned. Beef is tired, boring, lame, stupid, as well as an old marketing tactic to create buzz, and i promise when i see beef coming i turn my head and walk in the opposite direction. I really shouldnt be paying any mind to this beef, as if ignoring it would make it go away lol, (if we all ignored it maybe it would) but the people love drama as we can see from daytime soaps and reality TV, if you ask me rap beef is no different than an episode of “Days of our lives.” SMH….
and Jay replies… (on not only The Game but Jaz-0 and Dame Dash too)
